How to make AI photos of yourself
Upload clear photos, create your personal clone, and turn a prompt or reference into a new photo of yourself. Follow a photo from inspiration to download, then explore 14 reference-image examples and 12 prompt examples made with the same character.

Upload clear photos of yourself
Create your Mirai account, verify your email, and open the photo upload step. Choose 5–80 photos of the same person. A mix of face angles and lighting gives your clone more to work with than near-identical selfies.
- Keep your face visible. Use clear photos with one person, an unobstructed face and hairline, and natural lighting.
- Keep it recognizably you. Skip heavy filters, face-covering sunglasses, and group photos. Use photos you have permission to upload.
Mirai accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, and HEIC files, up to 15 MB each and 240 MB in total. These photos establish your clone's identity. You will add any scene inspiration later, in Create.
Create your personal AI clone
Name your clone and select Create clone. Mirai uploads the photos and prepares your personal AI identity. During onboarding, like at least three moodboards to guide the looks you see in Blitz.
Wait until your clone is ready before generating. Preparation time varies, and the app shows its progress. You can leave and return while it is building. Once it is ready, you can reuse the same clone for new settings, outfits, and photo ideas.
Make a photo with a prompt or reference
Open Create and select your ready clone. Choose one starting point: a reference image or a written prompt. For this walkthrough, attach a reference image, leave the prompt empty, and choose one image with a 3:4 aspect ratio in Settings.
Start with a photo you want to build on
Tap the plus button to attach your reference. Your clone supplies the identity; the reference guides the setting, pose, lighting, and overall look. Use an image you own or have permission to use.
This cafe reference shows the setting, outfit, and warm light behind the look. Compare it with the generated cafe photo.
Send your reference
Check that your clone and reference are selected, then select Send. For the image workflow, let the reference supply the scene instead of adding written instructions.
The reference guides the photo's look, while your clone supplies your identity. Framing, expressions, and other details can vary. Review each result before using it.
Prefer to start with words? Remove the reference and describe the setting, outfit, lighting, and framing in a prompt. For example: “A relaxed portrait of me at an outdoor cafe, wearing a cream shirt, with warm evening light.” Send that as a separate prompt-only request.
To build on an existing result, choose Edit or Recreate to bring it into Create as a reference. For this image workflow, leave the prompt empty before sending.
Save your favorite and download it
Open the result and check the face, hands, clothing, and background. Use Save to keep it in your Mirai library. Use Export, the download control, to download the image to your device.
Crop for your post, add your caption, and make any final edits in your usual tools. Mirai creates still images, so you can use your photo as a profile update, a post, or a cover alongside your own video content.
